User account

After you have logged in, you can Change your geographic location information (go to "My account") if you desire. This information is used to help you see content relative to your set geographic location (your job site location). Your location information will also be presented in your public profile page.

All content in excavating.com is indexed to a real geographic location for your covinenience.


Account information
Spaces are allowed; punctuation is not allowed except for periods, hyphens, and underscores.
A valid e-mail address. All e-mails from the system will be sent to this address. The e-mail address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail.
Provide a password for the new account in both fields.
Location
e.g. a place of business, venue, meeting point

If you wish to supply your own latitude and longitude, you may enter them above. If you leave these fields blank, the system will attempt to determine a latitude and longitude for you from the entered address. To have the system recalculate your location from the address, for example if you change the address, delete the values for these fields.
You may set the location by clicking on the map, or dragging the location marker. To clear the location and cause it to be recalculated, click on the marker.

The name of your company or what you call yourself.

This field will help people identify if you are interested in working in a specific geographic location (Colorado fount range, Florida, USA, etc.).
This is the URL to your company or personal web site (example: www.yoururl.com). This field will be shown to people looking at "Your Story".
Specify your normal operating hours
Your specialties (hard rock Excavating contractor, Civil engineer (dams & bridges), Blasting Contractor, Do It Yourself (DIY) etc.). This information will help connect you to your future customers. If you are not for hire state it here and in the body of your story.
